041 Land Rover Locomotors Ambulance conversion
£18.00 – £35.00
Of the various Ambulance Land Rover conversions, the Locomotors had a flat paneled roof.
Description
127 Ambulances
There were two slightly different styles built. One had a rounded front to the top of the roof whereas the second was more flat panels.
The round-front body was built by Marshalls of Cambridge and the flat-front body was built by Locomotors of Andover.
Built on an extended Land Rover series 2a 110 chassis in the years 1986 and 1987 by basically cutting and adding 17 inches. These vehicles were built on Series 2a and 3 rolling chassis.
They were powered by the V8 Petrol engine with a “military spec” transfer box (1:1.67 ratio).
A model of the appropriate vehicle will be needed in the same scale to mount this conversion on such as
the Hobbyboss Rover 110 Hardtop (1/35), and suitably lengthened (just like the real thing).
Locomotors and Marshall Ambulances are fitted to an extended Defender 110 chassis, the Hobbyboss Defender can be used as as donor.
I like Uhu glue for assembly. Dennis prefers plastic weld.
