013 Ferry Glansteffan

The Llansteffan to Ferryside ferry, 'Glansteffan' is a high performance aluminium-hulled boat, fitted with a 'Sealegs® Amphibious Enablement System' which allows it to drive out of the water onto land.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nOn the water, it is driven by twin 115 horse-power Yamaha outboard engines - can power her to a top speed of 30 knots.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nOn land, the boat is driven by three deployable wheels, rather like an aircraft undercarriage. All three wheels are fitted with hydraulic motors and the front wheel is steerable.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe boat seats 10 passengers, and up to 4 bikes or two wheel-chairs. Weather protection is provided by a well-designed canvas canopy, fitted with large sight panels.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWe have been commissioned by the Ferry company to design, make and market the model of this fantastic little craft. readily available in 'OO' & 'O'gauges, and 1/25 for garden railways, however, other scales can be produced by request. Our model comes with a split hull so that it can be depicted in or out of the water. This model is only available through us or from the operators, Carmarthen bay Ferries\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThis is a kit, unpainted, requiring assembly. paint and glue required, colours may vary pictures for illustration and are of the model or 3d renderings of the design which may vary as we constantly strive to provide the most accurate model we can produce.\n\nI like Uhu glue for assembly.
